Richard Convy , CFA, CPA
Richard Convy, CFA, CPA, is the President of AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust. From the Virginia office, he leads all trust company activities nationwide. Rick brings to AWM&T more than 35 years of experience in the financial industry with a specialization in investment management & trust services. Rick’s professional designations include Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and an MBA from George Washington University. Rick joined AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust in 2012 as part of the founding management team. He began his career as a securities regulator on Wall Street followed by positions as the Director of Investments at Riggs Bank & Trust and as a High Net Worth Private Bank Portfolio Manager for both PNC and Bank of America.
Executive Vice President and Chief Fiduciary Officer
Bonnie Humphrey is the Executive Vice President and Chief Fiduciary Officer of AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust and manages the AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust office in Winter Park, Florida. With an extensive background in both legal and financial markets, she oversees all financial planning, investment management, & trust administration services. She joined AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust in 2012 as part of the founding management team, after more than 30 years in wealth management, including private legal practice and advisory roles at U.S. Trust and HSBC. Bonnie received her Juris Doctorate from the University Miami School of Law. She also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy before beginning her legal career.
Steve Mannell , CTFA
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Mannell is the Chief Financial Officer of AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust. From the North Carolina headquarters office, Steve manages and controls all company financial activities and drives business development and marketing activities across the enterprise. Steve joined AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust in 2012 as part of the founding management team. He retired from the United States Army Special Forces as the Chief of Operations after twenty years of service. He earned an MBA from Duke, an MPP from Harvard, and a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he later served as an Assistant Professor of Economics.
Carrie Clark , CTFA
Senior Relationship Manager
Carrie Clark, CTFA is a Senior Relationship Manager with AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust. As a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, Carrie engages current and prospective clients on a highly personalized level to assess their financial needs and help them make informed investment decisions, taking into consideration advantageous tax strategies, estate planning goals, current and future income needs, risk tolerance and proper asset allocation. Before joining AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust, Carrie has spent over 15 years in the trust industry with financial services companies, including UBS Trust Company and Morgan Stanley Trust. Carrie earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Delaware.
Senior Investment Officer
Arthur Lyons is a Senior Investment Officer with AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust. He has more than 30 years of experience in the asset management industry, with expertise in portfolio management and analysis, trading, and product development. He is a subject matter expert for the Investment Management Consulting Association (IMCA) and is an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC©). He currently serves as a Sergeant First Class in the North Carolina National Guard, and has developed a nationally recognized financial life skills program for wounded soldiers and caregivers. Arthur graduated with a B.A. from Samford University and an M.S. in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Alabama.
Ross Cutler , CFP®
Senior Relationship Officer
Ross Cutler, CFP® is a Senior Relationship Officer with AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust. Ross actively helps clients review their personal situation and develop the right plan and portfolio to achieve their financial goals. Prior to joining AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust, he was the Assistant Secretary at AAFMAA. In this role, he worked hand in hand with the AAFMAA Secretary in creating strategic plans for the future of the association. Before AAFMAA, Ross operated a ship brokerage company and served almost 10 years in the U.S. Navy, separating in 2012 as a Lieutenant. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and holds an MBA in Finance.
Brittany Benassi, CFP®
Brittany Benassi is a Trust Administrator at AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Brittany provides top quality service to clients for complete administration of trusts, investment management relationships and financial plans. She is an instrumental part of the team providing support to the Relationship & Investment Managers. Prior to residency in North Carolina, she called Florida home working in real estate contract administration. She has since found her passion for helping others in the trust and wealth management arena. Brittany earned her B.B.A from Campbell University’s unique Wealth Management & Trust program.
Melina Selimbegovic , CTFA
Melina Selimbegovic is a Manager and Trust Administrator at AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust in Reston, Virginia. Melina directly supports AWM&T President, and works closely with Director of Financial Planning and Senior Trust Officer, and the Relationship Manager. In addition to supporting our Reston team, Melina works closely with clients as a fiduciary to satisfy requirements in establishing and administering Trusts, Financial Plans, and Investment Management accounts. Prior to joining AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust LLC in 2012 as part of the founding management team, Melina was manager of Survivor Assistance Services department at AAFMAA. Melina has a BA in International Politics and a BA in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Frederick C. Meixell
Event Planner and Office Manager
Frederick C. Meixell is an Event Planner and Office Manager for AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust. He works with the Winter Park, Florida team in creating and developing social and informational events throughout the state. Frederick has ten years of experience with community and startup banks in the Northern Virginia area where he planned and managed various business development and networking events. A graduate of Xavier University, Frederick has a BA in Communications and English.
